Sean Brady

NASM Certified Personal Trainer

NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist

Growing up, sports were a major part of my life. From the age of five all the way until the end of high school, I was competing. The experiences and lessons gained from competing will forever be priceless but my passion towards sports was not nearly as strong as my passion towards understanding reality. I begun studying Biochemistry at Portland State in pursuit of this passion. I became educated on the biochemical processes that occur in all life, which led me down a path to explore how these fundamental processes affect our health. Simultaneously, my enjoyment from physical activity persisted after my time as a high school athlete, as I continued weightlifting, running, and recreational athletics.

Soon enough, my ground up approach to understand the complicated fundamentals of life caught up with my enjoyment of physical activity. Here, I gained a true fundamental understanding to why physical activity is crucial for one’s well-being. I started applying my knowledge of fitness and nutrition to my life, and the results were (and continue to be) amazing.

I obtained my personal training certificate through NASM while continuing my education at Portland State. Soon after I became a fitness instructor taking groups through intense full body work outs. Here, I quickly learned how individuals’ lifestyles can negatively impact their ability to perform movements; which consequently can lead to problems down the road. Hence, my goal as a trainer is to address lifestyle patterns in order to establish a foundation with which we can build a strong house around in order to not only meet your goals but to help you live a more sustainably enjoyable life.

BS, Health Science

I graduated from Whitworth University with a degree in Health Science and had plans to continue my education in medical school the following year. But I quickly realized I lacked passion for the normalcy that the medical field required of me, and set my sights on a career path that allowed me to live a life that was anything but mundane. So, I did what I do best and freaked my parents by moving to a completely new city and throwing myself full force into the fitness world.

I have been involved with sports and fitness from a very young age, earning several softball titles and my first-degree black belt in martial arts by my sophomore year of high school. My love for the health and fitness realm continued to grow as I spent time throughout college in numerous athletic training positions. My NASM Personal Training Certification allowed me to pinpoint the science behind seeing change in our bodies and gave me the tools to use my knowledge to enhance other people’s lives through movement.

I’m not here to give you a 10-day quick fix weight loss program, I am here to teach you long-term, effective habits that will stick with you long after our time together is done. I think my goal with personal training has always been that someday my clients won’t need me, that I will have given you enough guidance to trade in your laid-back workouts for a routine that becomes a way of life. It won’t be easy, but I promise it will be worth it. Let’s get it!

I have always been drawn to physical activity and competing in sports. Over the years it has evolved from ice hockey and soccer, to climbing mountains and skiing.  These activities have led to numerous injuries, recoveries, and ultimately a deep passion for understanding how the body functions. I also enjoy keeping up with research in cardiac disease, fluid dynamics, and innovative treatments because humans are so complex. After healing from a chronic back injury, I was inspired to become a trainer and focus on helping others heal themselves. Casey is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns.

Sophie Peel

NASM Certified Personal Trainer

I grew up playing tennis, volleyball, beach volleyball and skiing. I went on to be a 4-year Division I athlete in beach volleyball and had the opportunity to compete all over the country during college. Fitness and movement has always been a critical part of who I am, so after college I became a certified personal trainer through NASM. To me, exercise is a powerful antidote to stress and anxiety, a moving meditation, a mental challenge, and incredibly therapeutic.

I love to work with all types of clients to help them realize their strength and will. I've worked with clients who have had severe chronic injuries, those who were ex-athletes, young athletes just starting their careers, and people who are completely new to the world of fitness. I truly believe that dynamic exercise, conditioning and weight training have the ability to fortify everyone's productivity, mood and life.

During college, our head coach had us do conditioning and lifting workouts based on Navy SEAL training regimens. That meant fostering camaraderie with teammates, digging deep when things got tough, and learning to hold up the people around you. To this day, my favorite workouts are when I'm able to feed off of the energy surrounding me and help others realize their potential and resiliency.

Megan Verbout

NASM Certified Personal Trainer

My passion for fitness began with my involvement in athletics at a very young age. I participated in softball, soccer, basketball, and ran cross country at Roosevelt High School where I graduated in 2015. I then went on to play softball at Linfield College. After having my second knee surgery, my participation in organized athletics came to an abrupt halt. This inspired me to acquire knowledge that would benefit not only my rehabilitation efforts after surgery, but also my level of fitness. It was during this time that I decided to begin working as a Personal Trainer. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in physical activity and health during the summer of 2019 and shortly after began pursuing a second bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

As a trainer, it is my goal to simultaneously assist my clients in reaching toward their goals in the gym while also developing habits that will contribute to lifelong health and wellness. I will provide a source of motivation, accountability, encouragement, and education for each of my clients, fueling their fitness journey.
